Mr. M. G. Raoot, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Raoot has very rich experience of system operation and power markets and is a recipient of CBI & P National Award for "Creative Work in Power Sector". He has published over 60 technical papers at various national and international seminars. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). Mr M.G. Raoot was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Power Exchange Limited (NPEX). NPEX is a joint venture company promoted by NTPC Limited, NHPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) and TATA Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) to undertake the business of setting up and operation of a national level power exchange.



Mr. Ashutosh Dravid, Business Development

Ashutosh Dravid is heading Business Development at PXIL. A seasoned professional with extensive experience across Institutional Sales, Channel Development and planning across multifarious industries, he is responsible for acquisition of new members and clients as well as customer relationship management. He has served for highly reputed concerns such as Reliance Infrastructure, Siemens, Philips and Osram and demonstrated competence in steering new diversification and expansion initiatives right from conceptualization up to the implementation stage in a record time frame.

Ashutosh holds a B.E degree in Electronics and a post graduate degree in Business Administration.


Mr. Pawan Kumar Agarwal, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary

Pawan is CFO and Company Secretary, Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL), India’s first institutionally promoted power exchange that provides innovative and credible solutions, designed to transform the Indian Power Markets.

An experienced finance professional with over 15 years of wide-ranging experience in Strategic Planning, Financial Management & Accountings, Audit(s), Taxation (including international Taxation and cross border transactions) and Statutory and Regulatory compliance, Pawan is known for his deftness in conceptualizing, designing and implementing financial processes and procedures to strengthen internal controls within the organization.

Known to be a resourceful leader with excellent communication, analytical, team-building and relationship management skills, Pawan is actively involved in guiding his team in working capital management, internal financial controls, budgeting and costing, finalization and presentation of accounts to the Board, handling all financial operations and getting the audits completed on time, tax functions and preparation of M.I.S. reports.

Pawan is a Commerce graduate and a Fellow member of the institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and an Associate member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. He also is Certified by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on International Taxation.



Mr. Mukti Prakash Marchino, Assistant Vice President, Membership and Clearing & Settlement

Mukti Marchino heads the Membership and Clearing & Settlement. He is responsible for designing a robust and efficient Clearing & Settlement (C&S) system for PXIL products and devising Risk Management policy and procedures. Prior to joining PXIL, Mukti Marchino was Heading Operations for Offline Stock broking in ICICI Securities Limited. He was responsible for Product Conceptualization & Process set up, Risk Management, Collateral Management, Trades and Clearing and Settlement. He was a Member of Process Approval Committee.


He started his career with Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), country’s premier Custodian and Depository Participant, and the largest Professional Clearing Member, where he handled the entire function of Capital Market which includes, Clearing and Settlement, Collateral Management, Cash Management, Corporate Actions, Trade Settlement, Depository / Custodial Services etc. It involved Co-coordination with more than 85 branches of SHCIL. He was also instrumental in starting a web based interactive customer information system..

Mukti Marchino has a MBA and has a Bachelor's degree in Physics.



Mr. Chandrashekhar Bhat , Vice President - Market Operations.

Chandrashekhar handles the market operations of PXIL and is also responsible for dealing with the regulators and strengthening the organization’s relationships with the National and State Load Dispatch Centers. Chandrashekhar is a seasoned professional with diverse and significant experiences in power generation and transmission. He has been closely associated in the Indian Electricity Grid Code development and the regulatory framework in power sector of India.

Prior to joining PXIL, Chandrashekhar worked with Western Regional Load Dispatch Centre as Chief Manager before which he was with Central Electricity Authority as Associate Director. He is adept in managing real time SCADA systems, has actively led several information technology integration initiatives as well as realigned several processes under the ambit of ISO certifications.

Chandrashekhar is an Electrical Engineer from VJTI, Mumbai and has completed his M.Tech (Electrical - Power Apparatus & Systems) from IIT, Mumbai.



Mr. Randall Miranda, Human Resources.

Randall heads the Human Resources department of the organization where he holds the responsibility of all people based activity within the organization both from an operational and strategic perspective. As Head of Human Resources he is involved in many areas such as resource planning and recruitment, performance management and employee development, compensation reviews, organizational development and a variety of employee related issues.

Randall brings with him 12 years of experience in varying facets of Human Resources and has extensively worked in the services industry with organizations like Wipro Spectramind, Intelenet Global Services and Bank of America Continuum.

Randall is a Commerce graduate and a post graduate in Human Resources.


Mr. Kapil Dev , AVP Business Development

Kapil is a member of the strategic business initiatives team of Power Exchange India. In addition to supporting business development initiatives he is responsible for relationship management and regulatory interfaces with CERC.
 Kapil is a seasoned Power sector professional with 13 years of domain experience. He has worked across multiple functional domains such as Business Development (client and asset acquisition), business planning, contracts and commercial, project management, erection testing & commissioning while working in a PSU, a Utility, an IPP and Power Exchange.
              Kapil is an Electrical Engineering Graduate from Aligarh Muslim University and has done his PGDBM from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is an avid reader on behavioral sciences, strategic thinking, history and Hindu mythology.


Mr. Anil V. Kale, Senior Manager – Strategy and Product Development

Anil heads the Strategy and Product Development department of the organization where he holds the responsibility of formulating and implementing Strategy of the Exchange and helps devise Products that meets Market Participants requirement.
Anil brings with him 17 years of experience in varying facets of Power Sector vis. Regulatory, Policy, assistance in Tariff based competitive bidding, Investments, Project Control, Manufacturing, etc. He has extensively worked in the services and manufacturing industry with organizations like ICRA Management Consulting Services Limited, CRISIL Risk and Infrastructure Solutions limited, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (on their 250 MW lignite based Power Project) and DLF Power Limited.
Anil is a Mechanical Engineer from Osmania University, Hyderabad and has completed his MBA (Power Management) from NPTI, Faridabad.


Mr. V V Sharma, Senior Advisor

Mr V.V. Sharma advises PXIL on its business interests, leveraging his rich experience of over three decades in the power sector where he has held key positions at Northern and National Load Dispatch Centres, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, National Thermal Power Corporation, Desein Consulting Engineers and Central Electricity Authority. His previous assignment was as General Manager of Northern Regional Load Dispatch Centre, New Delhi where he has made representations on behalf of NRLDC at the Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority, Regional Power Committees, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Appellate Tribunal, High Court and Supreme Court. As Head of National Load Dispatch Centre, Mr Sharma has successfully addressed several issues of which a few note worthy of mentioning are the implementation of Point of Connection transmission charges and losses in inter state transmission system, coordination with power exchanges, implementation of REC mechanism and monitoring of the operations of power system of India.

Mr Sharma has had a major contribution in the implementation of the Indian Electricity Grid Code. Availability Based Tarrif, development and implementation of Special Energy Meter, Transmission Tariffs, Commercial activities and Short Term Open Access as well as the development of power market. During his tenure in NTPC - Project Engineering Department, Mr Sharma has experienced the entire process of concept to commissioning of large thermal power stations and combined cycle power projects.

Mr Sharma has built strong relations with several several key functionaries at various utilities, traders and generators across the public and private sectors. He has also been involved in various developments in Indian Power Sector like tariff formulation, the Electricity Act and State Level power sector reforms.
